Young Writers Workshop, presented by HPL Express
Inside the HPL Express Library at Discovery Green, Writers in the Schools (WITS) offers free writing workshops for children every Saturday from 10:30am-11:30am. Young writers use imaginative writing exercises and craft activities to explore the joys of expressive art. This is a summer-long children’s event that will keep your little one thinking outside of the classroom while encouraging their creativity.
Flea by Night
This Saturday, July 20, once the heat of the sun begins to settle down, bring the family to downtown Houston for the monthly Flea by Night. From 6pm to 10pm, Discovery Green will be transformed into a treasure hunters paradise. Vintage, recycled and re-purposed, and mid-century modern are a few of the types of items that will have you wide-eyed from booth to booth. Along with food truck vendors and live entertainment from Charlie Perez and his Brazilian band, this event will have you busy all evening long! Visit Discovery Green Flea’s Facebook for the scavenger hunt item of the night – if you find it, it’s yours!
