Family Fun in Austin: Weekend Picks

With summer officially here, we thought we at Camperoo could give you a head start on picking out something fun for the whole family to do this weekend. Here is a list of some of the coolest activities and events happening in Austin over the next couple days. 1. Texas Rollergirls Double-header bout. May 31. www.texasrollergirls.org

Those who have never experienced roller derby will want to take this opportunity! Perfect for all ages.


2. Austin Symphony Hartman Foundation “Concert in the Park. June 1 – August 24. www.austinsymphony.org/events/

This free concert ensemble encourages visitors to pack a picnic dinner and make an evening out of it! Every Sunday, a different ensemble will be featured.


3. Mr. Pancake free kids show at Strange Brew. May 31. www.holdmyticket.com/event/163645

A free concert held by a versatile, entertaining performer, families will want to get here early for this one.


4. Summer Kickoff at Lakeway Activity Center. May 31. www.lakeway-tx.gov

With exhibits from the Austin Planetarium, Round Rock Fencing Club, and much more, kids and their parents can kick off their summer with a bang.


5. Art Garage Third Birthday Party. June 1. www.theartgarageaustin.com/calendar/art-garage-3

It’s the Art Garage’s third birthday, and everyone is invited to join the celebration. Activities, snacks, and party games are included!

Children that are hooked on sports can get their fix at Texas Sports, a camp that provides opportunities for players of all ages and skill levels. From baseball to rowing, check out their full listing at www.camperoo.com/store/texassports
