It’s August. What does that mean? It means that school starts in just a few short weeks. I’m sure that your child has been having fun at all the camps you found on Camperoo this summer and doesn’t want to think about school.
Parents, on the other hand, are checking out the school supply ads and thinking about back-to-school shopping. We also want our children to be ready to go back to school with the skills needed to be successful for the upcoming school year.
This is where you have to trick your child. Don’t worry! This “trick” won’t hurt them. Look into academic summer camps. This way your child feels like they are just going to a regular day camp, but you know they’re really at an academic camp learning new information and getting ready for school.
If you live in or will be visiting the Dallas area, here are some awesome suggestions for academic summer camps for kids:
Your child will love this hands-on science camp! There are different themes each week and children are given the chance to experience science through projects “designed to entertain and enlighten.” There is a mix of experiments, demonstrations, and sensory stimulation.
This botanical garden located in the historic Fair Park creates the perfect nature camp for your child. They offer bug explorations, butterfly investigations, field trips to the aquarium, and time to create art projects. Campers also have the opportunity to garden and learn about the great outdoors in the city of Dallas.
Technology is the future of our world! Wonder-Space offers classes in game design, media & graphics, and engineering & programming. They also offer a back-to-school math camp which will give your child a “jump start” on the upcoming school year. All classes are hands-on and campers learn a lot about technology and programming while having fun.
My son will be attending Math Camp through Wonder-Space Technology Camp this month. Which academic camp will you send your child to? Leave a comment below to let us know!
